We were faced with and issue regarding a Xerox WorkCentre 7345 printer.
The printer had different scanning profiles set up. One of them were configured to scan a document, convert it to a PDF-file and upload it to a folder on the File-server.
Out of nowhere it ceased to work. I started by logging into the web-interface of the printer.
In the Job History it had registered a Status-message;
After some research I found the online manual for the printer. In the troubleshooting section I found the following:
As it turned out the target machine for the upload was a Windows 7 computer. The client version of Windows only accepts 20 concurrent connections via SMB. The limit had been reached and thus no connection could be made to the computer.
You can either purge the list of current connections or switch the upload location to a proper Windows Server installation.
